Just in the process of finishing up with my line change on my 98 GTX Ltd. This might be a little to late but I thought I better ask before starting it.
When I pulled the pick up tube to clean out the fuel tank I noticed the bottom screen had fallen off and the float was laying in the bottom of the tank. Clean everything out and slipped the float back in and snapped the screen back on. Just curious if I was missing something off the float. It has two contacts on the back of it that I beleive give a signal to the fuel sensor. Should there be another piece, like a plate or magnet that attaches to these contacts? There is about 3/16 inch space between the sensor on the float right now. Is this close enough to send a signal through the sensor. Am I missing something and will I get a arc between the float and sensor if I try to start it now.
Any info would be appreciated, It's going to be +30 today :hurray:and would love to take it out one more time before winter hits.

Thanks Darrell

What you are seeing as contacts on the float are probably the magnets themselves. The float is not attached, just "floats" inside the baffle/pickup tube.

You people are the best - 98 GTX Ltd. runs great

Started up the sea after following your instructions to crank it it with the plugs out to fill the new fuel lines. Put the plugs back in, turned it over about 5 rotations and fired up great. Turned the water on and no leaks, just water coming out of the back jets and prop area.
Took it out to the lake and spent three fabulous hours out there with no problems. No hesitation, bogging and excellent throttle response. Topped out at 55 MPH at about 6700 RPM. Still do not have a fuel reading but that is minor. Should of followed your instructions to see if the float would float in a cup and also take a resistance reading as per your other threads.

Thanks again for all the recommendations and instructions
You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!
