I'm looking to pick up a speedster 150 215HP, i'm hoping to get a better deal considering its the end of the season. MSRP is 18,999, how easy is it to haggle this down and how far do you think I could go?

This is for a 2008.

Thanks!

Tell them you have negotiated a loan already and you want it for $13,500.

Than get him to bring it down to $15-16k since he won't let it go for 13.5

Tell them you really like such and such about Yamaha as well and you were able to find one priced just right.

Chances are you won't have any bargaining power till the new 09 models come out.

way the economy is...i'd wait til end of month, when their try'n t hit their quota's, then fire lower than 17,5, and see what happens..thats if can hold out til then....good luck

I think your best bet is to wait until next year and get a non-current one (i.e. a 2008 in 2009).

I did this with my RXP and got one hell of a deal. The only problem is that they may not have any. So go scope the place out and check out their inventory....if they have lots remaining its highly probable that you could take one of their hands next year or very late this year for a pretty good deal.

Are you willing to travel? If so start calling all the dealers within the range of what your willing to drive. I made close to 40 calls and ended up going 900mi each way for mine. Cost me just under $500 in gas/hotel, got over 6.5k off list though. There are deals out there, just have to be persistant.

I called all the dealers within a 500 mile area and got the lowest price quote then tolled the dealer down the street from me to match it and they did 16.2 is what I got mine for good luck

Well, I'm now looking at the 150 speedster as well but having trouble with any of them accepting my trade. The dealer close to me wants 15,999 for a 2007 215 hp without my trade. With trade they want 19,399!!!!! The next closest dealer is 2 1/2 hours away and they have a 2008 215 hp he would let go for $16,999 plus the $1000.00 gas card which you can use as a rebate I guess. You also have no money down and 9 months till your first payment. Yeah, still more than I want to spend on a boat but not a bad deal.

I'm looking at the same boat. I probably won't buy this year unless I can find a deal I can't pass up. I was quoted just over 16K on one in MI out the door. Extra options would be bimini top, cover, carpet, and galvanized trailer. All options would add about 2k more. I was kind of wondering what invoice was and what dealer cost on the options were and ultimately how much over cost I could expect to get one with all the options I want. They also quoted me about 3K for an aftermarket wake tower. They said they preferred this item to be factory and were out of any models with the tower.

I got mine used it an 2004 had 70hr paid 10,000 canadian. Here some boats i found prices are canadian and from the same area i live.

2008 speedster 150, 215hp $15,999 and includes the gas card aswell
http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/details.aspx?vlotid=71757&adid=7182552

also founds this boat from same dealer not a 150 but a good deal i think.
2008 speedster 200 310hp with a tower $25,999 and includes the gas card
http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/details.aspx?vlotid=71757&adid=7182555

prices are canadian so the 150 would be around $14,936 and the 200 would be about $24,271

I bought my Utopia SE for $26,500. It listed for $34,299.

I would stay away from the 0-0-0 deal. It is a revolving loan (just like a credit card) you could end up pay close to $75,000 or more by the time you get it paid off.

I got 0 down and 6.5% for 180 months and still got the $2000 gas card.

Just my thoughts...

What is your garage door height - and doesn't the SE come with a tower that likely wont fit under most garage doors?

sorry, I wasn't sure if you meant height is 7'9" or garage door clearance was 7'9"

if your garage door is that tall, then pretend I diodn't even poke my nose into this thread. :)

The Utopia is lighter than the 200 Speedster, and my personal preference says getthe Utopia.

a trailer or vehicle can't be wider than 8'6" without you getting special permits to move it down the road everytime.+

Tongue length might be an issue, but a swing-away tongue isn't out of the question, is it?

Sorry that was me butting in on your thread. Haggling is an art some people are experts and others try their hardest and don't get too far. I'm in between but I tend to get caught up in the excitment.

what kind of wake tower is $3K other than OEM which is more I think?
monstertower.com has a MT1 for $1000 and MT2 is few hundreds more. add some options on either and youre looking at some $1500 to $2000 for a fully loaded tower with spakers, lights and board holder.

Also I believe that the sticker price includes trailer, better check on that. bimini top can be found online for few hundred for good quality. cover can be found on ebay, $350 or so for my challenger 180 vs. $600 at dealer for same OEM cover.

tower thing sounded out of whack to me. price did include trailer, however if i wanted galvanized trailer that was $750 extra. I am interested in all available options, dealer cost vs. sticker price and what the middle ground is. That's why I'm giving myself a year to check into all of this.

with market being like it is, you have the buying power. Dont get intimitaded by the sales guy, haggle haggle haggle. also set a really low price to haggle with him and dont give up. hes gonna come down (most of the time) if hes desperate to sell. if youre lucky and find a place that has had trouble selling boats then you might end up with a really good deal.
also dont haggle for the price of the boat but out the door price and interest financing. cause sometimes they will give you a good price on boat but then add some crap on other fees and rais interest financing.
I was helping my dad buy a car and we haggled a price down to close what we wanted ($24K sticker, $18 OTD) but when he came back with final numbers I laughed at him. 12% interest financing on new car when everyone with credit score above 720 was/should be getting promo interest 1.9 laughed at him and left, they kept calling giving me the interest too but I told them I wont buy a car from them again. we didnt end up buying anything anyway cause we wanted to wait for the new model comming out this year with TDI engine.
so yes you can haggle for the price, those sticker prices are marked up som much its crazy.

$15,800

new on ebay 15800 buy it now. wait 2 months and they will get cheaper yet. dealers gotta eat-even in the winter. they gotta give 'em away at cost to make the rent. this one is in New York.

anybody know where to get a report that shows what the dealer paid, etc.? Like consumer reports does for cars. That way you can see all incentives, if there is any holdback to factor in, etc. It's nice to see all that info, that way even if they show you the invoice they will tell you they're going to make X amount of dollars when they might actually be making hundreds more with holdback. Or they show you the list price and subtract the incentives. It's my theory that incentives are exactly that, incentives for me to buy, not incentives for them to make more money. Maybe I'm all wet, but if a dealer would be willing to sell a model for say $350 over invoice, they should still be willing to sell it for that when there is holdback and incentives, not put that extra in their pocket.

If you can afford the extra money wait till the 09 come out there putting the 255hp engine in the 150 and all the boats now..
