Exhaust port

I was giving my Challenger its first hull cleaning of the season yesterday and I noticed that one of the exhaust ports was missing it's threaded cover ?not sure if that is the right name for it?. Basically it looks like a big plastic nut that threads over the exhaust tail pipe (so to speak).

Any chance that those are available from Seadoo? Or any after market parts... Or will I need to find a used one from a parts boat?

Looked up the part number for the exhaust assembly, unfortunately they are no longer being made. But found a Seadoo watercraft assembly (used) that uses the same nut and stability washer. Ordered it, hopefully, all I need is the nut and the threads are still good on my exhaust pipe?

Even if the threads are booger'd up a little... you should be able to clean them up with a small file, and a razor knife.

In all the years I've been playing with these things... I can't remember anyone saying that ring fell off. BUT, let us know if the PWC version works or not.

On the Islandia... they used big stainless exhaust outlets. My Problem is... they are in a spot (in the hull) that's hard to reach. I need to take mine off, clean them, seal them... and put them back together. (mine are leaking a little)

I'm thinking that I will need to "make" a gasket as those don't seem to be available any longer either. Will try to cut a ring from a sheet of gasket material... Something that works under water?

The part arrived yesterday right in the nick of time, as I was heading up to the cottage for the Victoria Day long weekend. I installed it this morning, fit perfectly. Looked like there was no previous gasket used, just some silicon to scrape off! So I did the same and applied a good amount of all purpose silicon and tightened it on.

All good, until I went to check the other exhaust port... OMG, it was now broken!!! Don't know how I didn't notice last time? Anyways, I placed another order for the same part! LOL
