We have a 2004 GTI LE. After replacing the battery and the lanyard post, we were finally able to run our SeaDoo for about 4 hours. Then, the SeaDoo began running sluggish so we towed it back to the dock. When we took off the seat, the water was about 6-10 inches deep inside the SeaDoo. We noticed the bolts on the exhaust manifold were gone and that was the cause of the water. We had our repair person replace the bolts/gaskets. I want to know what were cause these bolts to come out. This is the first time this has happened. Is there another underlying cause for these bolts to come out?

Thanks.
Ryan

Usually the culprit is a loose or missing mouting bolt that holds the tuned pipe. There should be 1 stud and 3 bolts holding the pipe to manifold. I always use a little blue loctite here and for the pipe mounting bolt. Stainless bolts are so brittle and sometimes I wonder how much expansion is going on with all the aluminum.

Expansion?

Aluminum expands and contracts very little if at all when heated.

If the bolts on the exhaust manifold were torqued to their proper value and a little blue Loctite was put on, you should have no trouble.
