Dumb Question w/ oil tank

I have a 2000 seadoo xp.. and on top of the oil tank there is the spout were you put oil in and then there's another black top for the sensor and the valve check. is there supposed to be a hose on the other end of the valve check?

The only dumb question is the one you didn't ask....NO hose on the end of the check valve...

ok so no hose on the end of the valve. I just noticed oil all over the hull so im guessing to replace the grommet and the elbow under the oil tank right?

Yes. It cost like $2.00 at seadoo if you use a catch under the tank you won't make a huge mess...Lube the grommet to install it then install the fitting.

Just don't try to force the fitting in the grommet...it just slides in with some injector oil.

If the oil tank has a seam you may want to check it as well as I have read that alot of the tanks leak around the seam. You may need a new tank. Good luck Robin. :cheers:

You may need to find out for sure wear it is leaking from because there are a few other places that can leak oil into your hull. I just do not want to see you wasteing your time. Good luck Robin :cheers:
