Hey guys,
My budget is about to be spread SUPER thin, so it doesn't look like I'll be able to afford a new $4-500 crank for my the ski that I still aim to build sometime next year. I was going to buy an oem or hotrods crank as I just lost a reman one at like 40 hours. So I wanted to see if I could rebuild one myself. I looked up how to do it, and it doesn't seem too bad. I have a press and torch, and runout gauge etc. I have pulled bearings and transmission assemblies apart before. But never a crankshaft.
So the first thing I wanted to know is where to get good quality parts. The only connecting rods I found online were WSM and TOP brand. Is either better than the other? Do some bearings wear out faster than others? Where is a good place to get these kits and how much should I expect to spend?
