Hi,

I have a 657 that the crankshaft is in need of some major rapairs, needs new seals and bearings. A lot of places wont work on them, and if they do they want the cases, and the pistons and bunch of stuff just to get the PTO off.

I was looking at getting a new crank, Will the 587 crank shaft work with the 657??? I noticed a lot of parts are interchangable between the 587 and 657.

How do you get the PTO off? If I could get it off the one dealer can changed the stuff i need out easily just they dont have a easy way of getting the PTO off.

Thanks,
Jamie

Nope

you need the 657/657x crank. Also, dont bother replacing the seals, bearings..etc, way easier to get new crank, probably cost the same, too.

In order to get pto off, put rope down a spark plug hole, then turn crank/pto til you smashit, then use pipe wrench and turn counterclockwise, to pop ur off.
