Hi - Found this while removing the jet pump for maintenance. I had already patched an area on the nose so not sure but maybe results of the same accident by the PO.
Question is do I need to address this crack? is this going to spread like a windshield crack does by constant stress? Not sure how thick the hull is and the crack looks minimal but wanted to hear your thoughts on this.

My hesitation is that this ski ha been in salt water since day 1. So far nothing has been easy to remove without some sort of collateral damage. -ThanksPump extension.PNGPump extension.PNGPump extension.PNG

I'd pull the pump and investigate how bad it is. If not terrible, id use a dremel to clean it out then fill with marine epoxy or something similar.

My guess is someone dropped that on a ramp and the pump hit the ground first, or maybe ski was rear ended on tbe trailer.

looks like it's just gelcote. Smooth it out and gel it over. You'd never see that area, so no real need to even color match.

I don't think this would cause mechanical issues.

a BIGGER concern is, it looks like your steering nut is 1/2 missing. Now if that comes out, you got problems! Mine broke and I could only turn LEFT AND the ski was sinking fast. Had to beach it and run the electric bilge for a while then book it back to the ramp!

@SabrToothSqrl Yeah it's full of epoxy. Although I'll have a tuff time removing it, it is on the list as well :)

I know what the procedure is to remove the extension .. some say remove the studs, some say to pry carefully. What advice do you have for one that's really frozen onto the studs? I've had to replace a lot of broken bolts. Thanks in advance
