Hi great forum
I have a 95 seadoo gtx with a 657 engine and had a swap out engine rebuild .
Then had problems with the power take off /clutch making a grinding noise and not fully engaging .
I read on another forum that all the pto's off the smaller engines were the same so I bought a 587 pto off ebay but its different than the one thats on it [which Im not positive that its right to begine with]
My question is will a p.t.o off a 587 work on a 657 engine ??

It appears that the shaft on the "old "pto slide to far in

thank you soo much =_)

got ur engine aligned, correctly? Inspect the splines on the pto, dirveshaft and impellor?

Thanx fer the reply buddy
The pto was worn out /stripped I put one off a 587 [mines a 657 ] and it worked great I am going to buy the bigger 657 pto shortly .

Thankyou very much fer the post

95 gtx taking on water

I went out for a test drive after many many problems getting this used ski on the lake [blown rebult motor fried starter worn out pto] finally got it out and it ran great fouled a some plugs running 30 to 1 break in fuel [I have premix].
It started running really crappy and then stalled I headed back to the beach and made it when I opened it up it had water up to the about 1/3 the way up to the pto so I took it out and drained it and took it home
I also noticed that the water was kind of hot .
I had some waves wash over me pretty good but I would think that the bilge vacume pipes would have taken care of it but it didnt
I am going to put water in the hull to ck for hull leaks any hoses that may be off or a place to look ?
Any advice on the bilge system on this unit any and all help will be appreciated

best regards
