Cleaning carbs

had same problem with my sportster 1800. Had just went thru everything..carbs, xcellerator pump..etc. Ran awesome for few times out, then it started missing. Pulled the little lines from xcellerator, only to have this brown stringy sh** come from it. So off came carbs and xlratr pumps, cleaned out, and all was new.

So, do you think I can fix this with just pulling the accelerator pump and little lines, giving them a good cleaning and checking the check valve will fix this, or do I need to go through carbs again??

One more question too. Should have backing the LSA to 1 3/4 from 2 turns changed the idle? It is idling higher since I did that.
