Chips in brand new wear ring

Should I be concerned about these chips in the brand new wear ring I received today? I purchased OEM to presumably avoid issues. In 12 years I've never had to replace one before, so just making sure. @hfgreg

I think you are right. It is the side with the rim that has the chips. That is the side that faces out of the housing and would get tapped on right?

I recently bought one made by titan 757 that had marks all over the OD and ID of the side with the lip. It was returned

I bet they tried to put in hot and did not put it in the freezer.
