Hey guys i have a 2007 rxt with 50 hours.. just put on riva stage one kit with a blow off valve.... when i plug the key in without starting it it says check engine po123.... what did i screw up when i installed those parts.... ANY IDEAS????

Thanks Andre

Tps....

That is a fault code for your TPS (throttle position sensor). You may have to have it reset for the RIVA stage 1 changes.

I just went over the RIVA stage 1 and I can't see where there should be a problem with this installation.

I think you may have bumped or moved the wiring harness to the point you've either blown a fuse or just shorted the TPS. If so, try pushing in on the connectors for the TPS sensor and check the fuses.

i'm an idiot when i put the ecu back in i squished a lead in of of the connectors and toasted my ecu now i need a new one sh*t!!!!!!

Ouch....

Ouch, that's bad news. You sure you fried the ECU? You may have a fuse link that protected it. You didn't get anymore P codes did you?

actually i just pushed number 13 pin on on the b connector so i got needle nose pliers and pull the pin back out but still same engine code!!! PO 123 when you look up that code it says tps sensor!! Is it possible i hit my tps sensor while installing the cold air and need to replace the tps? it also says short circut or something like that... I'm lost any ideas... it runs almost perfect just a bit of low end resistance...

Correct....

Your correct on the code. It's probably been shorted out. When you said you pinched some wires, they may have been the one you pinched.

I'm caught up right now, I'll go into the manual and see if there is a test you can perform on the TPS to see if it needs to be replaced.

TPS test...

There is a procedure to test the TPS to determine if the TPS is bad or the ECU. How handy are you with an Ohm meter? The test requires you to identify wires in the haness at the TPS and another at the ECU. It's fairly simple, but you'll have to know how to use an Ohm meter.

The rest of the testing can only be done using the VCK and the B.U.D.S. software at your locak Seadoo shop.

thanks man i think i am going to just bring it in for a service, get the oil changed and let the pro's fix it!!!! I bet its something simple but oh well...

Tps....

If the machine starts and runs, I'd say it's the TPS. If it were the ECU, I don't think it would run like you say it is. Have you looked down there by the air induction system, where you put on that new air intake from RIVA to see if that plug is loose?

The shop is going to charge you about $90 bucks an hour in labor charge. That's a standard rate in these shops. If you can check out a couple things yourself, you may save a bundle.

Do you have a friend that can interpret readings from an Ohm meter?

I hate to see you pay $400 bucks for a $50 dollar job.

The machine starts fine... I was kinda rough with my tps sensor... i will go buy an ohm meter tommorow and then do the tests i guess see whats up!!! Do you know how much a replacement tps would be? I wonder if i can get one shipped here to calgary alberta asap....

Ok one more question there is a plug not plugged in by the tps what is that one?

Costs...

On the high end, your TPS will run about $177 bucks. You may find it cheaper but I always look at the high end. We are not far from beginning our own part index here. It's being set up now, just hope it all works out so that we can deliver these parts ASAP

Your part number is 270000251 for the TPS. Curious, call your local Seadoo dealer and ask them the price of a TPS. You can give them the part number yourself. See how much they'll charge you.

That plug by your TPS is probably your throttle bypass valve connector.

Tps...

If your gonna order, I'd go with the TPS first, unless you want to keep a spare ECU around...
