Can you check compression without a key?

Going to look at a 97 gtx in great condition tomorrow but the owner has misplaced the key. He has a title and everything for it so I’m assuming it’s not stollen lol. Is there a way I can get the engine to turn over without a key? I don’t like buying something without checking the compression first. Can I jump the solenoid to get the starter to engage? Thanks in advance

Yes jump the solenoid with a pliers. You won't have spark but you can check compression.
