I'm looking to buy a brand new (2012) Challenger 180 that's still in the shrinkwrap. I asked the dealer if he would include the winterization in the price of the boat. He acted like a new boat in this state doesn't need winterization. I don't think this is entirely true, but wanted to get others' opinions. What do dealers do normally when they have boats carry over from one year to another in their inventory? Do they winterize their entire inventory each fall? Since the boats may have never seen the water perhaps the winterization steps are less than those for boats with hours on them? I live in TX so the winters aren't bad, but we do get below freezing for short periods.
