Blue collar on bolts

How important is the blue plastic collar on
The bolts that attach the jugs to the block?

A picture would be great. I have a couple DI's laying around and I don't see anything blue except the rave valve caps.

Might be blue RTV on the orings somebody did to help them seal. I usually grease the o-ring and slide them into the bore over the stud. I don' tknow it all though. Give that stuff a tug and determine if there is only an O-ring and the rest of the material is RTV.

that's not a collar, it's just sealant. Clean it up, and when reassembling use your favorite sealant under the head of the bolt (518, 1184, rtv, whatever)
