Manual contradicts itself

Working on a 2001 947 DI motor. My question is regarding use of Loctite 243 and molykote on head bolts. Manual states “apply Loctite 243 (blue) below the screw heads. The diagram indicates apply molykote below screw head. Which one is correct? The larger bolt I show in the picture below is the original bolt I took off the original head and it clearly has Loctite 243 blue on its bolt head. IMG_4900.jpegIMG_4901.jpeg

Seadoo flip flopped quite a few times. The newest manual shows the same as your manual.
I would do it whatever way makes you more comfortable.

The 243 blue is only under the bolt head.
The threads need the Molykote "grease" since cooling water can easily get in that area and corrode and lock up the threads.
It's not a perfect solution, but at least there is a little bit of surface area under the bolt head for some 243.

does thread locker (blue locktite) on the threads cause issues with removing bolts in the future can it also help with preventing corrosion. is the 243 under the bolt Head for leaking or to prevent loosening of the bolt? Prob both . im thinking about thread locker on threads and sealant under bolt heads.
Follow the service manual is the best advice I can give.

I use 518 under the head bolts. All you are doing is sealing that area. I can't see 242 sealing better than 518.
