bleeding air

I had a water leak on my manifold.at one of the casting plugs...front lower by the hose that goes to the head on my 95xp.
I welded it up an all is good,
but,
after i ran a few minutes, it started to beep.(overheat beeper)
so i pulled a hose off at the head and no water came out at first, then water came out. so i pulled the next hose to do the same,
then i pulled the top hose off the exhaust (small vent tube) till water came out of it,
all seem well now no beeping from the overheat warning system.

so i was just wondering do you need to bleed the air out of the head. and manifold when one goes dry.?

thanks

You shouldn't have to, but its possible that you might have done something wrong with the hose attachment connection. I also would check the elbows and hoses to be sure it doesn't have a blockage somewhere. be careful to replace each connection where it came from. On some models specific sizes are use in specific places. Here is a quick refresher on running on the hose.
Connect the hose and start the seadoo. Turn on the water after it is started. Turn off the water, than shut down the seadoo. This way it won't allow water to back flow into the engine through the exhaust due to no back pressure from the engine not running. The bearings and seals on the impeller jet pump are cooled from being in the water. When it is on the trailer it doesn't have that cooling effect so they will get hot after about 5 minutes.
I pre start my seadoo's too, dry before I leave for the launch too. Just for a second or 2 to be sure it will start at launch. Peace of mind is worth lot.

Keep us posted.
