Just what the title says. I got some of the cool blue lines off eBay. I have the old crappy ones and if it's easy I'm tackling it.

So just pull off and replace. Basically stainless clamps taken off remove line, replace line and clamps and that is all.

Ya I just pulled one off lined it up with new lines and cut to length and replaced. Make sure you clean your fuel selector while you have lines coming off.

I'll have to check the shop manual on the fuel selector. I'm a total noob. Can I do this with the fuel tank full? Thanks for the advice. I would have not tackled buying this ski without sites like these. I really appreciate the help

Yes its the knob that you can switch the gas on/off/res. On the outside of the ski you need to pop off the cap in the middle of the knob and use a phillips screwdriver to take out the screw. Then reach inside the hull and pull off the fuel selector. Its really easy!

So I'm basically changing all the grey lines in these pics right? I see two go to the carb and I assume the rest are for venting or run to the fuel selector? Also, it looks like my lines were spliced a couple of times with couplings added to make the lines long enough. This does not seem like a good idea. Shouldn't the fuel lines be one solid piece of tube?

I noticed that on mine as well. I just made mine into 1 long piece for each. There are 2 lines that go to the carbs, gas goes to it from front of carbs and gas returns from back side of carbs. You also need to change the lines that go between the carbs and you should change out the pulse line. This goes from engine to carbs. There is only 1 line you dont need to change from your fuel baffle and that is the vent line. It should run straight up and Y off. Mine does. One goes to the top of the ski under the front storage compartment and the other goes to the front left side of the hull.

be sure to open the gas filler cap. else if it's sat in the sun and heated up the gas will be under pressure when you pull the hoses.

Just bought a 96 xp and it has grey lines. My question is will I be wasting my time by just changing lines and then doing carb job when I can afford to take it in or will it be okay just to change the lines for now?

I just want to make sure I can't damage new lines with dirty carb or ect...

Thanks guys!

minor detail - I think ya also have to take a large hex nut off after taking the knob off for it to drop into the hull.

You may be right. On my 95 xp I dont remember that but I dont remember what I wore or ate yesterday either so its possible. lol

if you are going to run it, then changing the fuel lines now is better than not changing them. You can at least take the carbs apart and clean the internal filters for the price of a can of carb cleaner. If you don't, you run the risk of running lean and cooking the pistons.

Search in this site and rebuild your carbs yourself! I did it tonight on my 96XP...Replaced my fuel lines and installed an inline CLEAR filter... Piece of cake!

If you do it yourself, be sure to order GENUINE Mikuni rebuild kits and not aftermarket kits...

Go to NAPA and get about 20ft of 1/4 or 6mm Fuel lines and abt 20 clamps for it...
