I have read many post prior to posting this one, so constructive advice would greatly help.

2007 Seadoo GTI

To my understanding this has a closed loop cooling system for the engine and open loop/water cooled for the exhaust. If not please correct me.

When winterizing some say to flush via the flush port with 100% antifreeze, and some use a pump to pump the antifreeze into the flush port and then have it come through the exhaust/pump housing.
The question i have is, in the manual it states that normal flushing procedure is to start the ski then turn on the water hose as to not cause possible engine damage.
1. If it is a closed loop system for cooling why would this affect the engine.
2. Pumping coolant into the flush port without starting the engine, wouldn't this also cause possible damage?

I guess I just need clarification as how to properly do this process.

Also some say when removing the spark plug to ensure it is on the ground strap, what exactly are they referring to? If you remove the spark plug from the cylinder I don't see how you would keep it on the ground strap.

I apologize for my ignorance, but you assistance is greatly appreciated.
