Ski will turn over fine although both plugs are dripping wet with fresh oil just after a couple turns, but will not start. Also have clean oil drips under front side of motor? Earlier I suspected starter problems with only a click when trying to start although I fixed by tightening loose cable on starter...Any help would be greatly appreciated with oil problems.

Thanks!!

Take the plugs out, and crank it to clear some of that oil. Then shoot a little starter fluid into the engine to help it fire. Once it starts, the extra oil shouldn't be a problem.

IF... the oil returns after a couple weeks (or sooner) then you will need to check/replace the rotary valve seals... and possibly new crank seals.

I tried several times with no luck unfortunately. I think I'm at the latter choice to replace seals but wonder which ones or are both needed? What is average repair cost for labor and parts (please seperate) to replace these seals or is it best to replace engine, etc? I've heard the majority of labor is taking motor out of ski, is this a fairly straightforward job as I have removed/installed car engines etc just not much with ski's and thought I might be able to save some labor cost? One last question, are the seal replacements similar to a snowmobile engine as I have some friends that are great snowmobile mechanics that I could lean on for help? Thanks again!!!

If you can't do the work yourself... the labor involved would be more than to just buy a replacement/rebuilt engine. The crank seals are pressed into the center of the crank. Most shops don't have the equipment to do the work, so they will be buying a rebuilt crank, and then you will be paying the crazy labor rates for them to split the engine, and replace the crank.

If you aren't scared to do a swap... most people can do it at home in a day. (it's not to bad to just swap the engine)

Sorry for my delay responding, my compression guage is mia on permanent loan somewhere so broke down and bought a new one last night. Compression on both cylinders is 150-152psi and also found no spark in rear cylinder caused by plug wire loose in plug boot. Any chance that the rv seal is my oil dump problem in hull and cylinders so i can avoid crank seals for now? I wonder if I could try to replace this first as it appears to be somewhat simple repair before buying a new motor. If I try the rv seal first is it better or still needed to pull motor to repair? I also noticed that several of my oil and gas lines are secured with small zip ties rather than clamps, is this ok?

All fixed, ended up being a oil pump cover o-ring gasket and a bad battery. Thanks!!!! On a another note, there are two hoses coming out of right front hull, one goes to t fitting for oil lines, the other runs to back of ski, where and or what does this line do??? Can't see where it goes or what it does?
