98 GSX Limited Carb Adjustments?

Not sure what size engine in the GSX, but I'll give these to ya!....
717 engine.......Low speed, 1 1/2 +- 1/4.........High speed, 0
787 engine.......Low speed, 1 +- 1/4..............High speed, 0
Idle set speed in rpm's
Out of water......3000
In the water......1500.......

I just looked up your information on the 98 GSX.....the manual shows that your craft came with the 947 engine.
At any point the information for your carbs is:
...Low speed screw....2 turns.
...High speed screw....is sealed in a plastic cap and can only be turned 1/4" in the event it needs to be adjusted. Do not try and take the plastic cap off. Turn counter clockwise to enrichen and clockwise to lean.

So, the range is 3/4 - 1-1/4 for my 787, what is the recommended starting point? Should I initially set it at 1 and go from there?

No scooper, the set point for your low speed screw is one and a half (1 1/2). But if it's not running quite right, you can adjust 1/4 turn to lean or rich as needed........
