98 GSX limited Blowing starter soleinoid fuse

I have red and purple GSX limited i assume 951 engine it keeps blowing fuse15 amp at back of engine wire going to starter relay was told by shop it was either stator or mpem he said about 2 grand to fix any help would be appreciated.

Is it blowing the fuse eas soon as you press the start button or does it crank first then blow it?

ok did a little trouble shooting unplug stator motor turns over fine fuse doesnt blow or get hot engine turns over fine when you plug in stator fuse and wires get hot I think stator is bad. Tell me if i,m wrong

When you take the flywheel cover off, make sure you have a close look at your starter reduction gear. The teeth break off and get caught between the stator and the flywheel. You will most likely have to replace the stator and the reduction gear.
