97 Sea Doo GTX. Having speed issues.

I recently purchased a 97 GTX Sea Doo. Took it out for the first time today. Ran it fine for about 1 hour. Then the problems started.. When I tried to hit top speed the Rpms would drop the jet ski would stop accelerating...the whole thing would jerk back like I was hitting a govenor or something. Besides it jerking back when I am trying to hit top speeds it runs fine....

i'd go thru carbs...if/when all good, and still same, but also at time of carbs, clean the fuel selector and replace the grey fuel lines. But if clean'n carbs..etc, dont work, then remove red wire from rectifer...

When I was out on the water one guy said it may be fuel filter being clogged.. So I took it put blew it out and wiped it off and it ran fine for about 2 minutes. If it was something with the carbs what would I need to do to check/repair if needed..

yank outta ski/boat, and go tthru it, stud.

You just need to take them off and open the carbs up and clean them. Replace fuel line and maybe clean out the gas tank.
