97 GTX buzzer/ beeper driving me crazy!!!

My buzzer was bad on my Seadoo so I ordered a replacement. When I first installed it (before putting it in the handlebar pad, just plugging it in) it wouldn't work. I waited a few minutes, plugged my key in and it instantly gave me a startling loud 2 beeps. I unplugged it a few times and plugged it back in just to make sure it would work before I fully install it. So I installed it in the handlebars and when I plugged the key in it now just gave me 2 faint beeps. I checked all connections and still the same results, just a faint 2 beeps. Is my new beeper dying?

What replacement did you buy? OEM/Radio shack/Flloyd Bell.com/ other?

Even my old beeper would work well when i attached it to a battery but not on the ski.

Some beepers are designed to "beep loud" at a certain voltage.....what's the rating on yours?

I don't know the rating but its a used oem replacement from Minnetonka. My battery voltage is fine, I just checked it.

Needless to say if that one was off an older ski then it could be failing also.....they all fail with age, but works OK on a battery.

It might help, also I would call Nick about his beeper, he warranties all his parts.

Lol just checked it, works good now haha! I'll probably end up replacing it just because this one is inconsistent.
