I am getting no reading at all on my fuel gauge, so I figured that the gauge itself is bad. am I wrong? Could it be the sending unit? How should I test it? thanks
There is also a non-replaceable fuse on the baffle that may go bad. Search F1 fuse for lots of threads discussing it. Also, the wires can break internally where they go into the baffle. On a GTX it is a piece of cake to remove. You just need an ohm meter to test the entire thing. DL a manual and the function test is in there.
90% of the time the magnets fall out of the float in the fuel baffle. Seadoo updated the float so just take the end off the baffle and the old float will fall out. Make sure the magnet comes out as it could be stuck on the circuit board. Install the new float and plug it back in. Tip it up and down and your gauge should move up and down now with the power on to the gauges.
