97 GSX Speedometer Sensor

Purchased a 97 GSX and the speedometer did not work, neither the digital or the anolog one. I purchased a new sender hoping it fix problem and I would not have to chase down the wiring. Took it to the lake Friday and the speedomters still don't work. Looked at the shop manunal (for a GSX RFI as I don't have one for the 1997) and it states "Every 1/8 turn the observed voltage should fluctuate between 5.5 and 8.5 Vdc" I get 7.5 to 8.5 Vdc. Do I have the wrong sender? I have checked the wiring and I am getting signal to the brain but maybe the voltage is too low or the brain is not sending a signal to the gages.

Any ideas?

I have a 97 GSX and am Having the same issuse, no gauges, Let me know if you find a answer, I have been trying for a few days

I also have the same problem but no voltage to the sender. let me know what you find out and ill do the same for you if i find out anything.
