96XP no fuel to carbs

I had it running just 2 months ago with periodic starts over the winter to keep things wet. Replaced the fuel sending unit for no indication issue with used from ebay. I got my indication to work but now I don't get any fuel to the carbs. Have double and triple checked the connections with a diagram I found on the forum so I they're good. I can feed the carbs (mixed fuel) from a bottle straight in and keep it going for a minute or more if I want. Is there any chance this fuel sending unit is crap and what can I do to verify it? I still have the old unit so if I have to, I can reinstall it but it's a pita.
