96 XP impeller end float?

Can anyone tell me how much end float is allowed in the impeller assembly? I replaced the wear ring and prop. I don't know how much there was before I started. I can move the prop in and out, (not sided to side) about .070 in.

There is no spec on that.

When you are running... the impeller loads the shaft onto the thrust washer. This is why SeaDoo's have very noisy pumps sometimes. Especially at idle.

If you put everything back together properly... you will be fine.

Thanks Doc. I was thinking the direction of the impeller would hold it against the thrust bearing but wasn't sure if this much movement was too much. It does explain the noisy pump out of water as you say.
