96 xp having trouble getting out the hole

i have a 1996 seadoo xp and it is real slow gettin out the hole then it takes off when it finally does. it just revs up real high and doesnt really go anywhere. it has a factory race pipe, water injection, umi intake grate, and a 16/21 impeller. i was wondering if changing the impeller would be the way to go or what i dont know what to do any help would be greatly appreciated.

check your wear ring and impeller gap

Yup. Swap that wear ring out, and next time you gun it, You will get 6" of air under the ski as it pops OUT of the hole!!!

Keep that stock impeller (I assume that one is stock?).

I use the stock impeller for 55 mph on flat water (and get there in around 3 seconds), jumping waves and getting upwards of 12-15' airs, and being pulled behind the XP on surfboard and wakeboard.

So in my book, that is a good "all around" impeller.

its a skattrak impeller. the impeller dont look to bad but its probably bad enough to replace it.

Nothing wrong with it. Just too damn tired to do anything by 7pm

Sorry, off topic...

If it is a skat-trak impeller, I assume they recommended something even better than stock.

Post some pictures of it and let us, the experts (not including me:reddevil decide if it is bad enough to replace.

It may be fixable on your workbench.

It may need to be replaced. We cannot tell without seeing it. Skat-trak also fixes their stuff, so maybe you can send it in to them and have it remanned.
