Hey guys, I am a chevrolet car mechanic and i have some seadoo knowledge but not much so bear with me...Okay so i just bought these. I have a new battery and no leaks thats the good part..I put the ski on a trailer it runs perfect as long as u want it too. I put it in the water and off the trailer for 200 yards its great then falls on it face. I restart it run it for a couple mins then it gets worse it shuts off and gets harder to start. When its at its worst it will barely limp back once its warm from the middle of the lake with it floored. You can have the throttle 3/4 and it be barely moving and all of a sudden it takes off the falls on it face 10 secs later. makes no sense to me unless the carb is dirty or needing a rebuild. I have new plugs and have cleaned the fuel filter out. Also have removed every connection and made sure the terminals are tight and added dielectric grease to everything. Also the gas gauge doesnt work and it has fresh fuel. I was told there was a recall on the fuel tanks also is this true and how can i check if it was completed on mine? Thanks in advance i am a premium member and this site rocks! thank you! Brett Hayden - Florida

What up Brett...
No leaks...awesome...BUT...sounds like fuel issue. If grey fuel lines, replace them. Fuelselector could be bad, filter in carbs could be clogged, inline filter could be bad, ton of variables, ifcarbs havn't been gone through, I'd start there, man

thanks

sounds good but why replace the lines are they a problem? Why would it run fine out of water with the flush hooked up and not in water/

The grey lines deteriate after a while, start flowing w/ gas and gumm'n up parts.....other thing, theres no load on pump/motor, also, only run no more than 5min on hose, bearings in pump are lubed/cooled off while in water.

Also, bottom of sending unit/baffle, theres a filter. Fuel gauge, I've read about magnets falling inside from baffle, and down in the tank, that can cause problems also and thats why u arent gett'n reading,or maybe fuse
Fuel lines, get at autozone..etc, If u want, bypass the selectorfor now, only after cleaning carbs, think i'd start there, and then fire ur up. Everything good, then reconnect lines. If then have problem, clean selector, or new one, or leave it bypassed

thanks again ill check all that? Has anyone had this exact problem also? And anyone else wanna add to my checks? Thanks

:agree:
right on. I would allso give it a compression test. just as timmyboy76 said about grey fuel lines and carb rebuild.

thanks I will get them swapped asap...I just got the carb off i am going to rebuild it just because..Can anyone tell me what the little wire going from where the throttle cable mountson the carb to an arm about an inch below the carb is i was just wondering? Also anyone know anything about the fuel tank recall?

Oil injection pump...

I think you may be talking about the control cable of the oil injection system but it seems your not talking about that. You must be talking about something else. Better description please.

You are the second person that's mentioned a fuel tank recall. This must be some kind of internet rumor because I haven't heard of it and I've not seen any mention of it on the Seadoo websites official home page.

I think you are right i looked at the arm and it attaches to the oil injection pump i believe.. Someone sent me a link from bombadier about the recall let me find it and i will send it to you for future reference. Thanks for all the guys. I will be doing a compression test in an hour or so and post the details thanks

compression

I did it three times per cylinder and got same results everytime..Front 145 rear 135 this should be ok right?
