Starts and idles and can use throttle up to about 4k rpm. When you hammer it to go faster it hits about 6k rpm and immediately falls on it face. Smells really rich while running also. It did smoke like holy hell upon starting in the water but cleared out after 10 or so minutes.

Bought the ski about 2 weeks ago got it home and fixed the no start issue with new battery and starter solenoid.

There is no telling how long this thing has sat not being used. I'm pretty sure the fuel is bad. I'm going to rebuild the carbs with OEM kits and change fuel lines with new selector and new filters. Is there anything else that I should look at.

Buy OEM whenever possible, aftermarket selector switches are not great. When replacing this stuff air leaks are your biggest problem, go slow and make good connections. Rebuild them according to the carb rebuild thread on here, it has great info.

Thanks for the info guys I did the fuel lines and filter last night and carbs tomorrow.

With the RAVE valves do you just take the top off and spray it out? Or take them completely apart and clean?

Take them apart and clean.
Replace the rubber shaft o-ring if it is hard and replace the paper gasket.
