Hey guys, my wife rides a 96 seadoo spx with the 720 and loves it. She sees what im doing to my other skis and she said if i make mine faster she wants hers faster lol. I did find a deal on a factory pipe with all the goodies (water injection / rev limiter). It came off of a 96 seadoo sp with a 720. I guess my question is will this work with my ski (rev limiter)?

Another question: If I put this one will I have to changer her riding? How long can she hold it wide open?

Any other info you think i should know?

For all that think its just the wifes ski who cares, well shes not the chick that just putts around on it. she loves to have fun with the skis just like we all do.

Thanks for all the info guys!

Scott

From what I remember the 717 loves to eat the rear piston with the factory pipe. You really have to get the jetting right and have it tuned correctly. Matt Braley will know everything needed on this subject

The pipe and ecwi will really wake that 717 up though. Completely different machine when modded

Upgrade the carbs to some off a 96 xp. They are drop in that's the recommendation matt gave me for the hx with fpp

i do have a set of carbs that i can use that came off a 800, as far ast the jetting and what not would you still use the fpp info on the web page and set it up like a 720 or a 800?

Stock jetting for the 787 is what to use

thanks, do you know will that rev limit work for mine since they are both the same year with the 720?

also any idea what its worth? with r and d air filter?

Use the stock air box. Pretty sure all the 720 electronics are the same

The pipe should fit fine, rev limiter/water injection module as well. Don't pay over $300 for the pipe kit(I'd send you a good one for that) and make sure it has the support bracket that fits under three mag cover bolts. The exit of the pipe chamber must be 38mm. The first models were all 34mm and they blew engines every time.

Yes I like stock 787 carbs on those. The original carbs are for 85HP and even with re-jetting the 38mm throats have trouble feeding the monster you made. High revving 717's must have good carb support or the vibration will crack the case under the intake manifold. If you use the stock airbox the support bracket from the original 38's will go right on the 40's from the 787. The 40mm carbs bolt right to the 717 manifold also. The oil cables are different I'd go pre-mix and skip all that.

You will also now have the power to pull a 787 impeller. If she likes short bursts leave it and enjoy the incredible low and mid range but if she wants a few more mph up top then you will want a taller prop.
