96 GSX ground wire ?

Hi..

Getting ready to get out soon and put a new / rebuilt starter in ...

charged batter over night and low and behold the black main ground is not hooked up...... obviously when the starter was put in the ground wasn't reconnected ?

My question is does the ground go to one of the mounting bolts on the starter...

if you are talking about the large black batt neg cable it should go to the engine block right beside the starter

is there a bolt to hook ground too ????

i'm not a mechanic but this seems simple, is there bolt down by the starter where the main ground hooks up too... can't see anything down there i'm dazed and confused......

got 5 hours out of this ski last summer and all hell broke loose, now i'm thinking this ground wire shook loose and that was my problem...

right behind your starter feel the bottom of your motor by hand you will feel a whole, find your old bolt, or buy a new bolt put it through the connector in the ground wire then thread it up untill tight in your block.

You have a different setup. Your engine is a 951 not a 787.
