New to PWC's here so go easy on me if I seem ignorant. Bought my first PWC this year in May...used Sea-Doo GTX 2001 w/951 non DI. I had a full service done at an authorized dealer...stated the doo to be in good condition. It ran like a beast all summer until 2 days ago. Hard starts and stalls out like crazy for the first half hour then runs great again. Sounds like plugs or fuel restriction problem to me. Plugs have about 20hrs on them and don't look bad but I'm replacing in morning anyway. I then pulled the fuel filter bowl to have a look...YIKES. The bottom of bowl has a small amount of this grey waxy feeling garbage. My first thought was these grey fuel lines breaking down that I've heard about. This garbage was below the filter itself in the bottom of the bowl. So should I replace the lines? I just find it so difficult to believe that Sea-doo would used faulty fuel lines. Any thought on what else this stalling might be?

Oh yeah. Replace them, they are garbage. The insides break down into a globby mess. May not do it for a while, but they will. Pull your RAVE valves out and clean them up, I bet there sticky.

I had the RAVE valves cleaned when serviced in June. 20hrs on plugs and RAVE valve cleaning they should be good...no? When these fuel lines break down does it leave a grey goop? I mean I know the outside of the lines are grey but is that solid through?
I cleaned the bowl and filter with carb cleaner and will change plugs in morning to see if that makes any difference.

Nah, It's more of a greenish blue slime. That filter you cleaned out usually has a little gray goop in the bottom, that's normal, but good you cleaned it out.

timmyboy,
I'm looking over the shop manual now on the location of the carb filter. The shop manual isn't bad but I don't want to screw something up taking off all these items. Below is from the shop manual
----------------------
Remove pump cover no. 16, gasket no. 17, diaphragm
no. 18 and then pump body no. 4 and diaphragm
no. 19.
---------------------
How difficult is this and accesibility? To dark out there now to have a look
