92 XP taking a while to start sometimes

I have a 92 XP dual carb that sometimes takes 10 or 12 tries to get it to start. Usually after I've let it sit for a while. If I go out and crank it in the garage once or twice a week it will usually start on the first or second try. Any reason this would occur?

It could be a couple things... First be sure you have new spark plugs in it. If it has the old gray fuel lines replace all of them and clean the carburetors and the small filters in side the carb. Make sure it has fresh fuel and the fuel water separator is clean. These things may help it start better.

Air leaks....

Also, check your fuel lines for a tight fit. If you've got bad clamps, then after your pulse line has pressured your fuel system and you shut down, the air will get into the lines and the siphon effect can take place, sending your fuel back to the tank.
