787 not turning over sometimes

I walked out to my ski today and tried to start it because I am planning to go riding tmrrw. I get the beeps. I hold the starter and about 1 second later it starts engaging instead of right away it delays. And then other times it won’t even engage. Pls help all suggestions. Bad starter? Bad switch?

Check your connections and grounds. You're starter may need new brushes but check everything outside first.
