With regards to the oil pump cable I disconnected from the carbs when I last rebuilt these, but did not disconnect at the pump. Do I need to preload or does this generally hold and not spring loose. On the engine that runs good the line is all lined up, but I did not rotate the pump again. So I want to make sure when I do these I do them the same. Should I move the adjuster nuts on the shifter end back to even or is ok that I moved the left up higher to give more slack in back? Now that I have it idling right without the cables connected is there a way to keep from pulling it open further than it needs? I hope to get these adjusted in the morning before work, hopefully.
