I have a 2006 sportster 155. Engine exploded, coolant hydrolocked.

I noticed on SBT's website they have 3 different replacements based on if the valve cover has a breather, and the location of the crank position sensor in the mag / pto housing.

Curious why that matters in regards to a long block with no electronics?

All the guys selling used long blocks list 2006-2015, but I don't want to have issues if my stuff won't bolt up and work.

The crank locator pin is in a different location on the 06 and newer. Your boat being an 06 most likely has an 05 style but could be 06. Do you have 3 yellow mag wires coming out of the top of the PTO housing? This will tell you which style you have.

I ended up buying a 2007 GTI SE for $1k with 120 hours. Runs great.

I put it in the boat and used the 2005/2006 boat harness and ECU. I repinned the crank trigger, and used the air temp sensor and oil pressure sensor from the original engine. I grounded out the wire for the crankcase pressure sensor. I *think* I need to put a resistor on the two wires for the tops solenoid (since the 2007 is gravity activated).
