I have an 08 challenger with a SC'd 4 tec that was sunk. Got the water out of the oil. When I go to start it after it has been sitting, it back fires through the water box. Ideas?

Possibly valves are not fully closing
Do a compression check on all cylinders

You coil remove the exhaust hose between muffler and resonator and suck the water out of muffler

I will check that, perhaps I have water in the tank?

Thanks for the replies guys, had some water in the SC and intake, Backfire gone, and luckily no water in the tank.

It’s a good idea to remove intake manifold and get all the water out and spray valves with WD40 and do ASAP after water ingestion

That’s a nightmare if water gets in or into the contacts at the back
I would recommend pulling the supercharger impeller off and doing a clean up of the impeller ducted area and shaft seal
Pretty easy yo do
14. mm socket fir impeller nut (left hand thread )
And the surrounding torq bolts
Black RTV to reassemble with a torque of 89inlbs on torq bolts
Think it was 22nm on impeller nut but you can check on You Tube

Thanks for your replies, you know your 4tecs, I don't have that experience and confidence, just been wrenching on 2 strokes all my life.

I had to replace a 2013 wake pro main harness for the same thing
Customer flipped it and all the contacts were corroded
Ended up replacing all the contacts in the fuse box around 50 of with about 4 different sizes
I know have a good spare tested harness

But believe me, if I have a problem 4 tec, I hope you can guide me. I really appreciate your help.
