2004 GTX Speedometer not working

I bought a used 2004 GTX. It runs great and everything works, except for the speedometer. Changed out the paddle wheel sensor, but still no go. A friend of mine that has a little knowledge on Seadoos thinks the MPEM needs to be replaced? Like I said, everything else works fine (fuel gauge, temps, etc..). Would the MPEM really need to be replaced just for the speedometer?

It could be the pic up that the wheel attaches to. My buddies ski did the same thing. The wheel would spin and nothing registered. I tried a known good wheel off of my ski and still nothing. We eneded replacing the housing that is screwed onto the ski with three screws that holds the wheel. That fixed it. Its not to hard to swap. There is another option you can do as well. Candoopro has a GPS box that connects inline to give you accurate speeds. You could simply install that and get it working that way as well.

I replaced the whole sensor (wheel, housing with 3 screws, and cable all the way to the connector). Still didn't work. A Seadoo dealer told me the fix was to replace the MPEM. He said he had one for almost $1000. Don't need to spend that much on a '04 just to see how fast I am going. Will check out the GPS, but if it plugs into the MPEM like the paddle wheel, it won't work either. Thx for the response.
