schmidt is spot on.
the DI's have issues and they are NOT for the regular joe to own/fix/convert. I wouldn't fix up a DI w/o some real knowledge and background with ski's and DI's specifically.
I had a similar experience (ski is still in my garage)
2000 rx di, blown engine
the plan of action has started
bought the di hull
bought a 98 gtxL hull with engine
i'll strip the di hull and sell whats sellable
strip the 98 gtxl hull and put engine, electronics, fuel tank & misc into the RX
sell the 98 gtxl hull cheap.
in addition to some other minor misc stuff, a conversion really would require that you find another complete comparable ski perhaps with a bad hull or no title, cheap, and move everything over into the DI hull.
its an undertaking, but it can be done.
i haven't started my project yet, but all the parts are there to get started. I'll do a build thread when i actually begin, but i'm estimating a good 20 hours shop time, + rebuilding the 951 swap engine (10 more?) and misc, probably a good solid 40 hours of work.
the good news is...
you can sell the DI core parts
you can sell the di fuel pump
"" di electronics
"" di fuel tank & sender
and misc di parts that don't go into the new hull.
