1999 gtx speedo not working

Hi all,

Basically my speedo on my gtx ltd , both digital and analogue are not working.

Have checked speed sensor underneath and per seadoo manual instructions and it is working- 5.8 to 8.5 volts. Checked wiring to MPEM and it seems fine.
Any suggestions??

It might be a bad guage. The usual problem is the sensor or the wiring to the mpem.

are they connected?

One ore quikie. Are the speedo's on the gtx i.e digital and analogue connected.. say like in parallel??

If the problem is replacing the analogue speedo will that mean the digital display will start working?

Wish I was in Miami now... the weather in melbourne is bloody miserable!!

speedo still not working

Hi Kustom Karl,

Just a quick thread to let you know that I replaced the speedo on the 99 GTX ltd and it still isn't working. I took a reading off the speed sensor and I now get 8.5 volt when not spinning but when i spin the wheel I get no lower than 7.5 volts. Could the sensor be rotten?
