Hello,
I recently was looking at purchasing a used 1998 Sea Doo GTX 130HP.
I read on-line that a good way to evaluate a used jetski is to preform a compression test. Well the one cylinder had 150 PSI and the other about 119PSI.
I didn't like the reading of 119 PSI. Was this normal or is this to low??
Should I purchase this JetSki?

Thanks, for your help...

That seems pretty low on one side. A difference will often occur, but should be no more than maybe 10psi.
If the price of the boat is great, then re-ringing it may be worth it.

What kind of mechanical expertise do you have? I don't think I would trust that ski motor so depending on what you get it for, maybe. That is way too low on one cylinder. Could it be straining the other while it is running? To me that sounds like trying to walk on one tennis shoe and a platform shoe. I would buy that only if I was sure I wanted to take the motor out and rebuild it. Sure, if it turns out well, you make out like a bandit but if not, you might be looking at a rebuild.
