It has a really hard time starting with 2 riders. When it does start it won't rev up over 2k. With only one rider it starts no problem. The starter was just changed andonly has a couple starts on it.

What starter did you buy?

The number of riders has nothing to do with the ski starting.

With it on the trailer and with one rider in the water it will turn over and fire up right away. With 2 riders on the water it will turn over but has a really hard time to fire up, when it does start up it will not get going it will only stay at around 2000 rpm and if I let got of throttle it will stall out. It seems as if when it has load it won't start. If someone hold the rear end up out of the water it will fire up. Thank you.

don’t mind me, I am just here out of sheer curiosity....I can’t imagine how a second rider has anything to do with it...weirder things have happened

The only thing a second rider is going to do is lower the ski in the water. The only thing that happens with the ski lower in the water is that the exhaust is under water to a greater degree. So more back pressure. I always check compression first. :) Interesting if it isn't compression.

Thats what i was thinking thats why I am asking. If I get some one in the water to hang off the front of the seadoo it will fire up with 2 riders. Thanks.

I will do a compression test as soon as I can. It was good last year at around 140 on both. And I was having this problem but not as bad. Thanks.

Sure is strange... usually this kinda stuff only happens to me. LOL I wonder if you could have a muffler or exhaust system issue causing this? Sort of like putting a potatoe in the exhaust of an automobile and the engine doesn't have the umph to move out the water. I"m not familiar with the exhaust water box but if it is filling up with water that could be a problem. Good Luck !!

I have to commend you on your creativity in troubleshooting. Good Job !! So to me it has to be realated to the water level. For water to get in, air needs to be able to leak out for the most part anyway. I think I'd removed the water box and check the lines. Maybe your exhaust hose it bad... internally. Just a thought. Good LUck again !!! I'm sure we'll all be interested in the outcome.

Thank you! I will try that and let you know. Thanks for the help

Hi i checked compression around 135-140psi in both cylinders. What do you mean by water box?

I also removed the rave vlaves and gave them a little clean. Just wondering is scoring okay? Or should they be replaced?

I'd just clean the raves good and reinstall them. Make sure the oring on the bottom is good and give them a good once over. I'm not a Seadoo guru as i say... just trying to help you. Hmmmm.... I wonder if your problem is that the back flow of water into the exhaust is blocking off the flow of the exhaust out of the ski. Perhaps your exhaust hose is breaking down internally. You got something weird going on. I just got finished fighting with a ski I am working on.... but that was my fault. LOL Enjoy the ride.
