1997 gtx oil sensor?

Hello. Would appreciate some comments on my problem. Driving my 97 gtx , and suddenly the ski dies. The info center displays a red light. After trying numerous starts, l can make it to shore. I have looked at the level of the oil reservoir. Its not low at all. Guessing 1" from the top. When l filled it up to maximum the ski seems to be running great!

The oil sensor has nothing to do with the engine running at all. It is simply an idiot light.

Is there any other reason why this red light on the info center could come on ?

Low battery, low fuel.

Thanks for your replies. I did find the reason the ski was
cutting out. This ground connector from the rear electrical box to the battery had a bad connection. I had to replace and crimp.
