I just bought and have rode a few times and run great but the idle was set alittle high from previous owner. So, I turned it back but then the knock sound was so irritating when getting out of the no wake zone. I assume the other owner raised the idle to hide the knock. I noticed a bit with the high idle but didn't even think about it because it ran so good.

My first thought now is "is this thing ready to grenade or what".

It has 220 hrs on it and hasn't gotten any louder in 10 hrs of riding but should I be worried. It doesn't sound so much from engine but more from drivetrain. Hard to tell though when sitting on it in the water.

I saw someone selling anti rattle cones tonight on this site -- is that it? Anyway, I haven't checked compression yet (last roomate is enjoying that tool), but I think it's running as it should performance wise.

It seems that most used seadoos are not a good buy with anything more than 200 hrs. I did buy for $1300 with Zeiman trairler.

Should I dump it now or is it normal? Thanks, Joe.

Yes, the anti-rattle kit will get rid of that knocking noise. At low idle, the impeller is moving forward and back making that knocking noise. Your idle should be set at 1500 RPM in the water or 3000 RPM out of the water. Usually the noise will go away at the proper idle speed.
