I have a '92 GTS with rotax 587. I believe I need a new fuel pump and maybe a carb cleaning. The motor just cranks but when fuel is poured in cylinder it fires. I have fuel flowing from the line with the filter on down. Is the fuel line thats on top of carb that goes from the carb back to the tank the return line? Isn't there supposed to be fuel flowing from this line back to the tank? Mine is bone dry. Where would I get a fuel pump from? I can't find one. What do you all think is my problem?

there is a block of fuel lines going into the top of the tank. there are 2 pickups-main and reserve. 1 return, and 1 vent. on the bottom of the each pickup there is a check ball anti-siphon valve. it is probably stuck shut. spray it with carb cleaner and bang it around a little. you will probably be able to get it to flow. it is a one-way valve with a slight resistance so if a fuel line comes off, it won't siphon all of your fuel into bottom of the ski and do really bad things. also check the fuel selector valve. once you have both ends of the fuel lines off and in your hands, it will be pretty simple to check each line for flow or blockage. don't mix up where each line goes-especially on the fuel pick up.

the pump is in the carb. it is the square block about half an inch thick. tear it apart and clean it out.
