New to me 96 XP

Yeha that impeller looks ok. It might be time for a wear ring but I would run it first and see if it has any cavitation if not then your good if it doesn’t then it’s any pretty easy fix

The other ski that came with the purchase, 97 GTX, I think it has a oil leak. Oil level is down to the inline oil filter. Seller also suspects a leak.

Wanted to try it out on the water, can I just fill up some two stroke oil and go for it or will the leak cause it to run lean and lead to problems.

I mean it depends on how bad the leak is. If it’s just slight then yeah. And it won’t cause it to run lean but it will run out of oil and no oil = blown motor so it’s your call if it’s not a bad leak fill her up and run it. They all kinda end up leaking a little bit it’s normally the rubber Gromit on the bottom of the oil tank.

You did very well then, unless it’s a runner when I buy it, I expect to rebuild the carbs at a minimum. My deal could end up being very good, or so so, depending on what it ends up needing. I say it, because the one I probably won’t even attempt to fix, the engine came with it but the counter balance case had exploded. The one I plan on fixing is all there but I haven’t done anything with it yet, not even a compression test. But I need to own an X4 with the 787 to see what all the fuss is about
I have 787 cases, carbs and a few other parts off a 97 xp. here in Ventura CA
