07 Speedster 150, impeller wear ring and other questions

OK first off, i have done a little searching around oh how to do things etc. I have an 07 speedster 150 with the 215hp motor. Great boat, a joy to drive never had any issues.

Now the last time i took it out i noticed that the little threaded cone thing on the shaft side of the pump had backed off ( a common issue as i read) and i had some decent cavitation problems in the hole shot. I also noticed my impeller has some decent dings in it and from what i can see the wear ring could probably be replaced.

So i know that im going to be pulling the pump off to at the very least thread that cone piece back on. but i figured may as well replace the grease impeller and wear ring.

SO to the major question. WHAT impeller and wear ring do you guys suggest.

I see the solas concord SRX-CD-14/19 is a "stock replacement" and at the ~ 250 i see for it online its not bad. But what other options are there out there. Im not looking for performance i just want to get her back up and running in tip top shape... this cavitation sucks.

And for the wear ring, OEM? aftermarket?

And lastly best place to buy these items?!?!
~Thanks

You can save some cash and send your impeller to SBT for a replacement. Regarding pitch choice ... another member on this forum said once ...

"You only have one gear so choose your impeller wisely"

I would just stick with the stock impeller pitch, the guys at brp have done a good job of proper prop selection in my opinion.

I've used the SBT wear rings and they are good, I've also had their replacement Impellers (this was for my 98 speedster) and I was really impressed.

thanks for the input.

Personally i really do not like how the stock impeller has that janky rubber boot, It seems like solas impellers / aftermarket impellers come with a better much finer boot that looks to be machined aluminum. Also the rubber boot on mine the plastic keeper at the front of it came off and i dont want to have that happen again.

That stated a resurfacing / refurbishing for 60 bucks sounds much better than 250 for a solas impeller.

As far as pitch i wasnt looking to change the pitch just looking at different aftermarket companies (solas / skat trak swirl impeller etc).

And as far as wear rings it looks like there are many after market options out there that will do the trick just fine and for much cheaper than OEM.

If you don't change the pitch, no matter what impeller you use you will see very little to no change. So,,, if you can get yours repaired for 60 bucks, it is probably the way to go.

I have read where the swirl impeller with same pitch as OEM does increase low-end performance as it is designed a bit different.

I would like to gain some low end... last time i had her out i could hardly pull a single skier out of the water... took two people sitting on the front step of the boat to allow me to get on a plane quicker to get the skier up, cavitating the whole time.

Im not looking for more top end etc i just want to get rid of this excessive cavitation from low speeds, a proper impeller and wear ring are needed, but is the hub seal design of the stocker vs say the aluminum hub seal of the solas a cause of cavitation?

Now i know i cant just punch and expect it to not cavitate, but it shouldnt be as hard as it was to get a single skier up.

The stock impeller and sbt wear ring work fine pulling slalom skiers up for me. Shouldnt have to go aftermarket impeller to get what you are looking to do.
