Hi everyone I'm new to pwc's, and I'm working on one for a friend of mine. I hate to do this but this is all I know about it. Its a 04 gti, she said that everything was fine she went out and went to turn around and it stalled. she was towed back in and all it does is clunk when we try to start it. She has two of them and had to have the other ones flywheel replaced before and she thinks its the same on this one. I pulled the cover for the flywheel and tried to turn the engine over with a ratchet, lightly back and forth. It wont move more than just enough to clunk either way.

Would this be a flywheel problem? or is it more internal? I'm not new to engines and to me it seams internal but could the flywheel key locked it up like this? I checked and don't see anything in the prop. Just want to get someone elses thoughts before I tear it apart any farther. Thanks in advance.

You've had a major failure. Take the engine completely apart & you will see the problem.

Ya thats what I'm thinking. She just said the other one did the same thing and it was the flywheel. I'm going to pull the flywheel off today and disconnect the shaft just to make sure its not something else, then its time to pull it out and apart.

Do you have a idea what it would cost? Worst case? cheaper to buy a used engine? Like I said I'm new to these things but been around engines my whole life, bikes, cars, atv's. just never around jet ski's. Thanks again.
